The Mental Health Intellectual Disability Initiative – Adult (MHIDI-A), also known as the Stronger Together Program. This is a psychiatrist-led multidisciplinary specialist team within the Monash Health Adult Mental Health Program. The program is for people aged 16 years old and over and residing within the Monash Health Catchment, who have a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability (i.e. IQ < 70) and mental health difficulties. The individual should also have a General Practitioner and/or team responsible for providing continuing care and/or case management.

The team consists of a:
 Consultant Psychiatrist (Clinical Lead)
 Service Manager
 Psychiatry Registrar
 Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN)
 Psychologists
 Social Worker (SW)
 Occupational Therapist (OT)
 Speech Pathologist (SP)

MHIDI-A provides clinical support to the referring treating team. We address specific referral questions regarding an individual’s mental health diagnosis, treatment and management in the community. An episode of care lasts up to 12 months.
