Royal Commission releases final progress report

Last month, the Royal Commission published its seventh and final progress report. The Seventh Progress Report summarises what was a very busy work program for the Royal Commission covering the period from July to December 2022.

The report also notes that between July and December last year the Royal Commission:

  • received around one fifth of its total submissions in December 2022 (1,700), bringing the total number to 7,944
  • held 441 private sessions with Commissioners
  • held seven public hearings
  • published four reports
  • held a workshop with people with disability about their experiences with air travel. This resulted in the Chair of the Royal Commission, the Honourable Ronald Sackville AO KC, writing a letter to airlines and airports around Australia outlining their concerns.
